This weekend I was lucky enough to attend London Fashion Kick. For those of you who don't know London Fashion Kick is basically a fashion project that helps designers, fashion houses or any other fashion professionals market themselves through events like the one I attended. 

I only stayed to watch the fashion catwalk and it was amazing. The variety in designs shown was amazing. However, what I liked most about the catwalk was the models. They were all different in shape, size, complexion and personality. It was refreshing to see models who were more relatable (to me at least) especially because this made it easier for me to picture myself in the clothes being showcased. 

First of all, I'm just going to apologise for the quality of some of the images. The room didn't have the best lighting and if you've ever had to take photos of moving models you'll probably share my pain. 

Casual Wear:

Part of the catwalk was made up from a series of structured colourful ensembles that would be suitable for day-to-day wear. I loved the use of floral patterns and subtle uses of lace. The combination of white with warmer toned colours are perfect for summer and give the whole collection a slight bohemian feel. Another thing I noticed about the whole collection was the reoccurring theme of flared or peplum cuts. If you about my love for flares then you probably know that these sort of cuts are a regular occurrence in my daily looks.   

Swimwear

It's no secret that I love a good bikini and I was definitely not disappointed by the ones that were showcased. Many of them would probably be considered "skimpy" but I certainly don't see anything wrong with showing a bit of skin. Majority of the swimwear was very strappy and slinky, which added a little bit of sexiness, however the playful patterns kept them fun and sweet. I particularly liked the cover-ups which were made using some crotchet or knitting technique. I could really imagine myself rocking these on the beach, despite the threat of some crazy tan lines.

The Grand Finale

What a way to wrap up the show. The grand finale was made up of beautiful models gracing the catwalk with some more formal outfits. Majority of the silhouettes were classic a-line or mermaid cuts (apart from my favourite piece which is the last photo in this post). The use of traditional materials and shapes mixed with textures and art pieces truly celebrated feminine fashion. Love, love, love!
