London Fashion Week Show: House of MEA

Welcome back!

If you saw my last fashion post than you know that I was lucky enough to attend London Fashion Week this year. I have already written a whole post dedicated to my favourite fashion show that I saw. However I went to quite a few more and thought it would be a shame not to share my experience and photos on here.

The show featured in this post is House of MEA (MEA standing for the middle east and asia). The show included designs from two designers; Felix Bendish and Rocky Star. Both designers, although inspired by the same part of the world, couldn't have had more different interpretations.

Kicking off the show was Felix Bendish. His collection was heavily influenced by fashion forward Japan. Acting as a canvas for the jewellery the structured but stunning apparel complemented the accessories beautifully. With dark city style inspired shades and sleek clean cuts the collection truly embodied east meets west. The more than statement jewellery pieces were larger than life with geometric designs and bold colours.

Wrapping up the show was Rocky Star's collection. Heavily inspired by the luxurious fabrics of India the catwalk was dominated by elaborate patterns, an array of rich colours and heavy structured fabrics. The texture variety created beautiful juxtapositions of sequins, furs and silks intertwined in patterns reminiscent of both Indian and Chinese culture; the perfect balance of eastern fashion. The silhouettes, however, were inspired by the everyday woman with blazers, midi skirts and scarves all making appearances. Finishing off each piece with carefully detailed embroidery the show was truly a royal display.
