January Recap

January, like every year seemed like it lasted three months instead of one. I don’t know if this is because we’ve been in one of the strictest lockdowns here in the UK, or that it seems to be dark all the time or that it’s just the usual January vibes? Either way I am kind of glad to see the back of it.

Every year in January people flock to social media talking about their resolutions, goals, targets and how they’re going to become the best version of themselves this year. Even though I do think January is a great way to see a new beginning, it shouldn’t be the only time of year that you’re thinking about resetting yourself and starting fresh. If you read my 2021 post, than you probably already know what I am going to say.

Just because it is a new year, you don’t have to push yourself to become a “new you”, you don’t have to loose weight, you don’t have to think you’ll be happier once you achieve this goal or that. I find when I’ve done this in the past, I’ve almost wished my year away getting to my goal. Instead, we should focus on being present in the now and enjoying the moments we have.

Although I can’t say I’ve had a memorable January - I have worked hard and consistently on my quarantine habits that I wanted to keep from 2020. Like I’ve said before 2020 was a difficult year for everyone but it was also a beautiful year for me in terms of realising what I want from my life which is to live a more slow-paced lifestyle, being more present everyday and nurturing myself physically, mentally and spiritually.
