November Recap
November has gone passed in such a weird blended blur. In fact, I really feel like this entire year has, possibly because of how uncertain this year has been and how I’ve spent majority of it inside my home not seeing anyone but Elliott. But, if you’re read my previous recap posts you’ll know that I’ve actually become very used to spending time at home and I actually quite enjoy it.
I’ve been taking November quite slowly and focusing on not putting too much pressure on myself to be productive every single day because, let’s face it, pushing yourself everyday is going to lead to burnout. Instead I’ve been using my time to learn how to enjoy more of life’s simple pleasures like making a homecooked meal, going on a walk in the brisk autumn air and curling up on the sofa with a good book.
The older I get the more “slow-living” appeals to me. I yearn for a wholesome life with little modern-day stress but full of plenty of meaningful moments. I spend less time lusting after the latest designer fashion or makeup and put more time into nurturing my relationships with my loved ones. After all, it’s our relationships that we remember, not the items we have accumulated.
I had a conversation with my father-in-law in November about what is most memorable for us during the run-up to Christmas and unsurprisingly it was not the gifts we received, items we got in the sale or that deal we snapped up - it was putting the decorations on the tree, watching that film together as a family or playing that game with your siblings. These are the things we should truly cherish and be grateful for.
What are you grateful for?
