Style Snaps: Insta "What I Would Be Wearing" Femme Luxe Lookbook**
So lockdown life and missing the feeling of getting ready to go out is a real struggle for so many of us! That’s why when I got the opportunity to work with my long term fashion partners Femme Luxe again, I thought I’d share with you what I would be wearing right now if I could go out for brunch, host a bbq, go on a dinner date and head to the cinema with friends.
BBQ hostess
Femme Luxe “Ohh La La” Oversized T-shirt // Primark Denim Shorts // Primark Western Belt // Roxy Bag // Kylie Minogue Sunnies
My go-to casual summer look has always been a t-shirt and denim shorts. It’s a staple combo that can easily be layered with “on-trend” pieces to bring it up to date. Without the accessories and additional styling this look could be very at risk of being boring. So to give the oversized t-shirt a bit more shape, I tied it into a cropped top and rolled the sleeves up slightly. This kind of silhouette is really flattering, as it can really bring in your waist whilst showing a little bit of mid-drift at the same time. Whenever I wear a crop top I usually always style it with some high waisted bottoms, like these black denim shorts. I then completed the look with my favourite western belt, small distressed clutch and my prescription sunglasses to create this easy going outfit - ideal for a BBQ or an evening in with friends.
Brunch with the girls
Femme Luxe Black Ribbed Off The Shoulder Crop Top // Warehouse Culottes // Rubi Sandals // Coach Handbag // Kylie Minogue Sunnies
Brunch is always a great excuse to get dressed up in something glamourous but daytime appropriate. That’s why I love this crop top from Femme Luxe - it fits the brunch bill perfectly. You can’t really tell too well in this flat lay, but this crop top is worn off the shoulder and has a deep “v” neckline. It also has this kind of wrap detail which helps create the illusion of a smaller waist and hourglass figure. Again, because this is a crop top, I styled it with some high waisted leopard print culottes that are the perfect balance between smart structured trousers and fun summer vibes. Also, because I normally go to brunch after an evening of living for the weekend, I paired this look with some comfy flats, my prescription sunnies and my Coach handbag. I know most people don’t like the combination of brown and black palette outfits however, I think the leopard print culottes bridge the gap between the colours nicely and results in a warm toned look perfect for summer.
Dinner date
Femme Luxe Black Ribbed V Neck Midi Dress // Coach Bucket Bag // Rubi Sandals // Gifted Necklace // Ebay Choker
I couldn’t get this entire midi jumper dress in the photo, however I have to say that it is one of the best fitting jumper dresses I have ever tried on. It clings to your figure perfectly, and the v-neckline is extremely flattering especially if you have a fuller bust. Because of this neckline, I decided to layer some necklaces to create a bit more glamour. To complete the look I then decided to add in my large Coach bucket bag and the same comfy sandals from the last look. On a dinner date I really like to keep things minimal but also like to include something that will keep me warm - and this jumper dress does both perfectly.
Movie night
Femme Luxe White Sweet But Psycho T-Shirt // Femme Luxe Faux Leather Leggings // Rubi Scrunchy // Fila Trainers // Kylie Minogue Sunnies
One of my favourite things to do on a weekday evening or on the weekend is to go to the cinema with my husband and our friends. It’s something we do together pretty often and I always like to mark the occasion by wearing something comfy but cute. I think this t-shirt is the perfect item to build my cinema outfit around because it’s pretty minimal and has a sweet font with some fun wording. It fits quite tight to the body but it’s still pretty comfortable nonetheless. Because I’d be sitting down for a long time, I decided to go with some comfy faux leather look leggings and slip on trainers. To accessorise and add a bit of colour to this outfit I threw in a burnt orange scrunchy to keep my hair out of my face and my warm toned prescription sunnies for when I’m on route.
I cannot wait to wear this looks out and about once lockdown is finally lifted but for now I think I’m just going to be doing my own brunches, dinner dates and movie nights from the comfort of my own home. Which look was your favourite?
