September Recap

September marks the start of my favourite part of the year. I love the cooler months - watching the colours of nature change around me, embracing the warmth of a fireplace whilst being wrapped in a snuggly jumper, and of course ending the year with festivities alongside family and friends. Most people tend to wind down at this time of year yet I start to feel inspired again. Everything makes my mind tick and I get sudden bolts of ideas and creativity.

I started off September continuing to draw - a hobby I revisited after going into lockdown earlier on in the year. I am still trying my best to put a pencil to paper at least once a week but recently Elliott (my husband - if you’re new here) got a new tablet so that I could try my hand at drawing on there. It has been so fun and freeing to draw digitally. I’m not going to lie though, as someone who has always drawn with pencils on paper it feels strange to draw on the smooth surface of the tablet. If you’re interested in my drawing journey make sure you follow me on Instagram where I publish my finished sketches quite often.

Throughout September I was also trying to get back into my routine of exercising and eating better. I haven’t really spoken about it on here but about three years ago I started making a more conscious effort to make my lifestyle healthier. I wouldn’t say I was unhealthy before this - I just didn’t put much thought into what I was putting into my body and how I was strengthening myself physically and mentally. My routine isn’t extreme by any means and it certainly doesn’t follow a set schedule. I just try to eat a consistently balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables whilst exercising a few times a week. I document my new lifestyle over on a dedicated fitness and food Instagram page, if you’re interested.

With that I am really looking forward to October’s recap to see what I have achieved physically, mentally and artistically. Watch this space.
