OOTD: Rock Hard
Any of my reader's KISS fans?
This time I'm actually not talking about KISS cosmetics but the band. I thought I'd incorporate my love for KISS in my first outfit of the day post of the year. I wore this outfit of new years day. My thinking behind this look was that I wanted to dress up for new year's day but I also wanted to look like a rock star.
I built this whole entire outfit this classic KISS band tee. Band t-shirts are a great addition to any wardrobe, come rain or shine. I think they're so easy to style and can be dressed up like in this look, or dressed down with a pair of jeans. Whenever I am in doubt about what to wear, band tees are my go-to fashion staple.
As well as expressing myself through my style, I also want to keep warm. A faux fur coat fits the bill and keeps me cozy all throughout the London winters. The zip on this coat is slightly off center and can zip all the way to the top, creating a snug turtle neck. A handy feature if you feel the cold a little too much, like me.
I love mixing textures together in my outfits, especially when my base colours are pretty flat. It just gives my monochrome outfit that extra bit of edge to really bring it to life. Velvet is still a big trend too and incorporating it with another seasonal trend like a choker makes me feel like a total badass.
I love pleats, however large box pleats can feel a bit school-girl so opting for this narrower ones seems like a more sophisticated and chic alternative. I really love the layered effect of this dress, however if you're tall like me, tights will definitely be needed.
