OOTD: Forest Child

If you read my last outfit of the day post, then you know that bohemian looks are my vibe. There is nothing I love more than floating around in an ethereal-esque number, feeling like a child of the forest. Hence the name of this look - forest child. Whilst this outfit is not completely bohemian, I feel like this is something I could rock more on a daily basis and still feel like I’m channeling Stevie Nicks a little bit.

I started structuring this look around this white blouse from Primark. The sleeves are three-quarter length and slightly flared - perfect for floating around and feeling like a fairy. The neckline cuts quite far down the chest and is pulled together at the waist with some string which you can fashion into a bow followed by three buttons. This makes it perfect for pairing with a choker or necklace. The rest of the top then flares out and down, whilst being split in half down the middle like a shirt. When you spin it floats out like a skirt - I love it.

I wanted to let my blouse do most of the talking for this look so I paired it with some trusty indigo jeggings from Asos. I love the fit of these - as a wide hips and big thighed lady, these jeggings are very forgiving and fit up and over my thighs and hips to hug my waist perfectly. I chose indigo instead of my ususal black because I wanted the look to be brighter and less “goth” like most of my go-to outfits.

For accessories, I kept things pretty simple. I covered my head with a black slouchy beanie - a staple from my uni days. It’s very inexpensive and from H&M. I then decided that I wanted to feel a little more glam and wear some olive green ankle boots from Guess. I purchased them in TK Maxx a few months ago and I have to say that they are actually really comfy and easy to walk in thanks to their thick heel and ankle support. I also adore the colour of them - although a little trickier to style than black, I am really enjoying playing with a bit more colour for the autumn and winter season. As always I wore my glasses from Kylie Minoque which, if I may say so myself, as gorgeous. I also kept my make-up minimal as I wanted to look like the free-spirited natural goddess that I am!

So is this a look? Let me know in the comments!
