Travel Diaries: Exploring the Hellfire Caves

Hidden away in the Chiltern Hills is the Hellfire Caves - a mysterious series of tunnels and chambers that go deep into the hillside whilst hiding some suspicious historical secrets. For many, the Hellfire Caves are known for supernatural sightings, secret societies and even satanic rituals. However, my first visit to the caves actually revealed a wealth of tamer history which is often overshadowed by the more dramatic stories. However, I cannot deny, the more dramatic tales surrounding the caves is why I decided to visit.

Travel Diaries: Visiting Whitby Abbey

Nestled on the windswept cliffs overlooking the picturesque town of Whitby, Whitby Abbey is one of my favourite historical ruins to date. Not only is it home to rich history, architectural grandeur and beautiful views it is also linked to the classic gothic novel “Dracula” and various other supernatural occurrences. So when I visited in the autumn of 2023, I thought I’d snap some quick pictures of the ruin and highlight some of my favourite things to see and do there.

Travel Diaries: A Day At Hayling Island & The New Forest

As one of the millions of people living and working in the UKs most populous city, I need to find ways to spend my long weekends without contending with the hustle and bustle that is London. So, over the last few years whenever we have a bank holiday - especially if it’s one of those many ones in Spring, my husband and I, and occasionally our friends, make our little pilgrimage down to the south coast. And more times than not, we find ourselves in the New Forest or Hayling Island.

Travel Diaires: Exploring the Bottalack Mines, Cornwall

The Bottalack mines in Cornwall was one of the most surprising places I had been when I went to Cornwall in autumn late last year. Originally I wanted to go to the mines because they had been featured quite a bit in Poldark, one of my favourite period dramas. So I was only really expecting two mine ruins in the middle of a field. However, like I said I was pleasantly surprised with what we discovered there.

Travel Diaries: Hiking To A Secluded Beach In North Cornwall

It’s been quite a while since I’ve published a travel diaries post. But with a combination of the pandemic, work and other responsibilities I haven’t been able to travel as much as I’ve liked for the last two years or so. Also, the few trips I have taken, I chose not to share them online just because I like to keep a few things for myself and document them in a more personal way. So, in the light of this I’d thought I’d share a few snippets with you all of my recent trip to Cornwall with my husband.

Travel Diaires: My Favourite Things To Do In Sydney For Free

Sydney is one of the most expensive cities in the world so if you want to holiday there you should expect to pay quite a bit for the privilege. However this doesn’t mean that you can’t fill a small chunk of your itinerary with a few free things to do! Whilst I was in Sydney (especially when I was by myself) I found quite a lot of free things to do that I not only really enjoyed, but would also recommend to anyone else going to the city.

Travel Diaries: The Best Walk To See Sydney's Major Sites

If you’ve been following me on Instagram then you’ll know that I recently went on a 10 day holiday to Sydney. This wasn’t like my usual planned holiday though - this trip was a little bit different mainly because it was actually a work trip for my husband, Elliott. Also, we only knew we were going about three weeks before we left. So, it was a little spontaneous for us to say the least. Whilst Elliott did have to work we made sure we had some time together to enjoy the city of either side of his work trip.

Travel Diaries: An Evening In Lisbon, Portugal

In January I got the chance to visit Portugal for work. Whilst I mainly stayed in Cascais, a beautiful seaside region just outside of Lisbon, I also got to visit Lisbon for one evening. I was actually quite lucky because the company I work for arranged for a tram tour of the city which enabled us to see a lot of the city in such a short amount of time. I'd definitely recommend it if you're short on time when visiting.

Travel Diaries: 24 Hours In Edinburgh, Scotland

It's no secret that I travel alot... Not just for pleasure - but for work too! Earlier on this year I had the opportunity with work to undertake some video production training in Edinburgh. Obviously, I went along and so did my camera. However as we were there for only a short time and with majority of the day being taken up by work I had to be wise with how I spent my free time.
