Johnson and Johnson Summer Beauty Event*

I haven't been to a beauty event in a while...

In fact the last one I went to was the Juvadent beauty event in January so when Johnson and Johnson invited me to their summer beauty event I couldn't say no. For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past century Johnson and Johnson are pretty much the kings of the pharmaceutical and skincare industry who have brought us brands like Neutrogena, Piz Buin and Compeed.

The lovely team at Johnson and Johnson beauty event were kind enough to separate all of their products into various age categories. Being a 23 year old I gravitated more towards the 16-25 section. However, I am a firm believer that it's never too early to start thinking about your skin. So if you feel like you need something a little more heavy duty then listen to you skin and try something different.

If you've been a reader of mine for a while you probably know about my love for the grapefruit scrub by Neutrogena. I've been using it since I was about seventeen and haven't looked back since. It keeps my skin completely blemish free (most of the time), leaves my skin feeling super bouncy and of course keeps my face squeaky clean. However recently, now that I'm a little older, I've found that it has left my skin quite dry. So after talking to one of the lovely ladies there, she suggested I try out Neutrogena's hydro boost scrub which also has a gel cream sidekick.

Although the gel cream was in the 35-44 section and the scrub was in the 25-24 section I had no doubts in picking both of them out. Additionally now it's getting a bit warmer here in London I suspect my skin will soon feel even more dry. I'm hoping with these new products under my belt I can keep flaky skin at bay this summer!

Speaking of summer, what summer skincare routine isn't complete without a little sun protection? I'm no sun worshipper - due to my super pale skin I am blessed with the burden of shying away from the sun and skulking about the shade all summer. However feeling a bit optimistic I picked up some of the tan accelerating oil as well as some instant glow skin illuminating sun lotion. Both of the products are by Piz Buin and offer a protection of 30 spf. I originally picked these up for Elliott as he tans so much better than I but maybe I'll steal a little bit. Who knows I might actually get a tan this summer? Or more likely Elliott will.

Now back to some really skincare basics - Johnsons baby oil spray, Johnsons wet wipes and the truly classic Clean and Clear spot treatment. As I've said before I have never been spot prone. However thanks to a few stressful work related deadlines I have seen various blemishes raising their ugly heads. But it's nothing the Clean and Clear spot treatment can't handle - so I am definitely excited to try it out. If that's not good enough, one of the lovely ladies at the event told me to combine the spot treatment with the wet wipes to clean up any excess after the treatment for a squeaky clean finish!
