December Recap

December is over and we finally find ourselves in a new year after what seemed like one of the longest years of many of our lives. I’m never normally one to wish away time, but I can’t help but feel a little bit guilty about how I wished some of 2020 to pass more quickly. However, upon reflection, despite the current state of the world and despite the struggles 2020 brought me - I am still grateful for the experiences and lessons it brought me too.

November Recap

November has gone passed in such a weird blended blur. In fact, I really feel like this entire year has, possibly because of how uncertain this year has been and how I’ve spent majority of it inside my home not seeing anyone but Elliott. But, if you’re read my previous recap posts you’ll know that I’ve actually become very used to spending time at home and I actually quite enjoy it.

September Recap

September marks the start of my favourite part of the year. I love the cooler months - watching the colours of nature change around me, embracing the warmth of a fireplace whilst being wrapped in a snuggly jumper, and of course ending the year with festivities alongside family and friends. Most people tend to wind down at this time of year yet I start to feel inspired again. Everything makes my mind tick and I get sudden bolts of ideas and creativity.

July Recap

And just like that we’re over half way through 2020. You can get alot done in seven months but this year I haven’t. I don’t feel sad about it. I think I’m just enjoying riding the waves and letting life take me to where I need to be. This year has gone passed in a blur of winter storms, being hauled up in our bungalow and working from the spare room. But that’s okay. I’ve actually enjoyed this slower pace of life and really started to appreciate what really matters.

Self-Care Ideas For Social Distancing

I am not sure how long we will be advised to practice social distancing, but whilst I am spending alot of time indoors I thought I would make the most of it as well as make some of my readers’ self-isolation periods a bit more interesting too. So, I am planning to be boost my self-care routine in a big way by trying new things, doing things I enjoy and rediscovering things I once loved - and I think you should too!

Making My Life Consciously Cruelty-Free

Ever since I could remember I have adored animals, not just the typical soft cuddly kind either. I love all animals from the traditional pets like cats and dogs to the more unconventional bearded dragons and snakes. I’ve never met an animal that I couldn’t love. So, my affinity for animals has always been there, however I have to admit that like many of us, I am guilty of picking up items in the shop (particularly beauty products) that aren’t 100% cruelty-free. So, this year I have decided to make a more conscious effort to make my life as cruelty-free as possible.

I'm Back But My Blogging Alter-Ego Is Not!

It’s been a while and I actually don’t have an excuse for it this time. This time I’m just going to be honest and say that I haven’t felt inspired, motivated or even excited to write on my blog. It’s not because I didn’t love my blog for the past few months - it’s just that I’ve been in a kind of creative slump. And you know what? That is completely okay. A few years ago I would have seen this break in blogging as a failure.

Moving On...

You've probably noticed I've been a little absent lately... Again! I know. This year has been a roller coaster of change and learning for me and although I haven't been writing on my blog as much, I have been having so many other amazing experiences. That's why I thought I would share it with you - my wonderful readers because I actually really do enjoy sharing some of my life with you and I want to do it more.

Spring Cleaning My Blog And My Life

It's been a while... Again. Sorry. But really I am not going to apologise. Not because I'm not grateful for all of my readers or my blog but because I'm trying to prioritise balance in my life and I've just started to get comfortable with figuring it out. When I was posting 2-3 times a week, I was putting myself under quite a lot of pressure and I wasn't spending anywhere near enough time away from my computer. In short I wasn't being good to myself or the people in my life.

Why I Probably Won't Attend Beautycon London Again

I am usually a big fan of beauty events... In fact, I'd even go as far to say that I love attending them. I like getting to know new beauty brands, learn the tricks of the trade and of course meet other make-up, skincare and hair care enthusiasts. However as you can probably tell from the title I am unfortunately not writing to tell you about one of my favourite events of the year.
