A Slower Paced Lifestyle Recap Of 2021

It’s not a revelation to tell you that 2021 wasn’t exactly a “normal” year. However for me, compared to 2020, it was actually more relaxing and far more enjoyable. Not just because we are all starting to get used to the “new normal” but because I finally started to learn about what it truly means to lead a more intentional, enjoyable life.

Ways I've Grown My Confidence That You Could Try Too

I think confidence is something, no matter how we feel about ourselves, we all still struggle with. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be human. Our relationships, even the one with ourselves, cannot be perfect all the time. However we can always do things to improve our confidence and mend our relationships with ourselves no matter how broken we believe we are. I am a firm believer that no matter how low you feel, there is always a possibility to pick yourself back up again. Even in your darkest hours, there is still a small glimmer of light in the distance and within yourself to guide you back. It is by no means easy or quick but we can all do it with some self-belief, an established routine and a bit of grit.

October Recap

October is my favourite month of this year and I am kind of sad it flew by so fast. I did alot this month. I used the beginning of the month to take some time off work and go on a little staycation to Cornwall with my husband. The rest of the month was dedicated to getting prepped for a fun D&D party, playing some Animal Crossing and just taking life slowly. It was a pretty blissful month.

Travel Diaries: Hiking To A Secluded Beach In North Cornwall

It’s been quite a while since I’ve published a travel diaries post. But with a combination of the pandemic, work and other responsibilities I haven’t been able to travel as much as I’ve liked for the last two years or so. Also, the few trips I have taken, I chose not to share them online just because I like to keep a few things for myself and document them in a more personal way. So, in the light of this I’d thought I’d share a few snippets with you all of my recent trip to Cornwall with my husband.

Negative Space and Self Esteem: Part Two

Mental health and my relationship with my own body and mind, like many people, has sometimes been a struggle. I don’t tend to talk about it that much on the internet or even with some of my closer friends and family members. It’s not because I feel any shame about it - it’s mainly because for the longest time I didn’t talk about it with them so it makes it kind of hard to start now, especially since I am in a much better place.

September Recap

September is one of my favourite times of the year - not only because it marks the start of Autumn which is my favourite season - it also, for me, marks a period of starting anew. I know alot of people think the only time for renewal or revitalisation is the new year or spring - however I find that you can actually discover many periods of fresh starts throughout the year and for me September is one of them.

August Recap

It’s been a while. And that’s okay. If you’ve been with me since I started these recap blog posts then you probably know I’ve been making a more conscious effort to lead a slower-paced life. To me slower-paced life doesn’t mean being boring, lazy or unmotivated. It means making time for things I enjoy doing - even if that’s just taking an afternoon to read on my sofa or spending a few moments gazing out the window on a rainy day.

March Recap

Spring is finally here and I have to say that I feel rejuvenated. It seems that my body and mind work with the seasons. In Autumn I wind down, in Winter I almost hibernate and now that Spring has rolled around I feel full of life again. As I get older I am starting to understand how important it is to listen to my body. If I feel like I need to sleep - I sleep, if I feel like I want to eat - I eat. However the further I delve into Spring, the more motivated I am to get things done.

Habits For 2021

2020 was a difficult year for many people, be it physically, mentally, financially or spiritually. So now that I’ve found my feet firmly in 2021 I am looking forward to the year ahead. I know that this year still isn’t going to be “normal” and I am far from expecting to be able to go back to how I was behaving in 2019. But the more I think about it the more I don’t particularly like the behaviours of 2019 me anyway.
